Time Pool

Ok, without hopefully giving too much away, I'm trying to do the trick where by a digital watch is sped up with the use of a magnet.

now what sort of magnet is best for this one? I've been looking at the Neodymium magnets but the sizes and strengths are confusing me. Any help would be great, cheers.

Editied: The effect is Time Pool from Karl Fulves mentalism book.

Magnets STOP watches, Dirty Davey, they don't speed them up.

You may be thinking of a particular prop which is currently available for around £200. I can't say any more about it in connection with this thread as I feel it would be too much of a reveal... sorry m8!

Ah now that's what I thought, but I have come across a very interesting effect in Karl Fulves Mentalism book which (apparently) will speed up a digital watch. It sounds very interesting and would fit in perfectly with a set I've got planned. But I've never used magnets before and all the different variations, sizes and strengths available are confusing me.

Someone at a magic convention told me that certain magnetic jewelry items can speed up cheap digital clocks from Woolworths etc. Dont know if its true

I think this is one of those dated tricks, where technology has moved on since the trick was written.

I've tried this was 3 different watches and it's not worked on any of them. Might have to scrap as I really wanted to do it with a borrowed watch.
