Ever wondered what that bloke from Trivium was actually saying when he screams and gives himself throat cancer/vocal cord rippage?

No?

Me either actually. But I still found this funny as hell :D

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

Ha ha Trivium are great. Once you know what they're saying it's pretty clear really.

They are one of the best metal/thrash bands around at the moment IMO and I'll be catching them on their tour with Iron Maiden 8).

But yeah, I have to admit that is a pretty funny and quite true-sounding interpreation :D.

Totally agree but I prefer him now cause he sings and doesn't scream even though everyone says they suck because he doesn't scream anymore. I had to read the lyrics because I couldn't understand what he was screaming about. Also check out the bullet for my valentine and Slipknot interpretations

Personally I think Trivium are awful although it is more so because of the vocals, not the music. Excellent vid though :D

Agreed Citrus - so you don't like their style of singing, that's fair enough. But with lyrics like theirs (and Matt CAN sing, their musicians CAN play and they play WELL - check out those riffs!) and their talent you couldn't say they were bad...just not to your taste. As with any music.

I think some of their songs are suited to the screaming. I wouldn't have Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr any other way if it was down to me. But I would also like some more stuff like Dying in Your Arms (but just less Emo-ey ).

i had to stop watching that first time i saw it, laughing was hurting too much.
i've been out a rock club this weekend, twice. and heard this about three times. i was of course rocking out on the dance floor singing "BOAT! RUDDER!!"
rocker types really don;t know how to dance to Electro!! shocking!!

anyway, i think we should start a new thread, a "if you're bored and want to waste half an hour look here" thread. and just post links to things like this, and that crazy Hard Gay thing we had up; or little online games to play. things to waste half an hour with!

Custom R&S decks made to specification - PM me for details

First time I heard "Pull harder on the strings of your martyr" I didnt know if after the "pull.... harder" bit he was screaming "on the" or "martyr".

Anybody heard their new song Detonation?

Pretty good stuff, if this is where they're going with their music then I shan't miss the screaming all that much :D.

I saw them at The Academy once. The room went mental when they came on, then stood respectfully and listened to the first song, then went mental again when they'd finished, then repeated the pattern for about two wonderful hours.
