The Watch Crystal

Postby Brad Monks » Apr 29th, '03, 20:49

Ok, so its not the cheapest of effects but i personally think its amazing.
A watch crystal is shown (like the old pocket watches) and is shown to be perfectly clear as you'd expect, on a small polishing cloth is shown an old style watch/clock face. The spectator is asked to chose a time and starting from the 12 to mentally spell out that time (moving one hour per letter) on the polishing cloth to represent the past, whatever number is landed on they are asked to spell out that number from there which represents the present, and then to spell out that number from whatever number they are now on to represent the future. They are then asked if they want to stay where they are or continue once more, whatever they reply you then hold up the clear crystal and breath on it. A watch face appears with the hands showing the number they have arrived at. Its sounds long winded and complicated but with the right patter its a killer, i use it all the time for something a bit different and it always gets a reaction. Hope this helps

Nothing to reset, as the mist dissapears on the crystal so does the watch face and numbers and it is a totally clear crystal again. Dont do it to the same person twice though as if they are on the all they may suss it out. It is a really great trick and well worth the £32 i paid
