The DVD you have a link too is not bad actually. There are some nice lighter moves on there. if you want to burn stuff then flash products are the most common used. You will find several books on this subject.

Introduction? :D

I'm sure someone fairly recently mentioned or reviewed a routine which involved a lot of lighters. I might have been dreaming but I thought mention was made of receiving a box of the things as part of the package. Can't find it on Searches yet but will keep trying.

Eddie burke does a russian roulette with lighters (about £12). You know, they pick lighters you put it to your hand and it does not light, one is left and.... Nice little effect

Well there is the color changing lighter, but the version on the market isn't with Zippo lighters but the cheap plastic ones.
although I did saw somewhere about a year a go a guy doing a whole routine of him taking a Zippo lighter of some color, lighting a small peace of flash paper with it and produce a small silk in the color of the lighter while the lighter itself changed color, and he did it again about 2 or 3 times, when eventually it went to plain metal color and then he turned it into a mylar mouth coil (only he pulled it out of his hand instead of his mouth).

Haven't seen it any where else so I guess it was costume made, but a pretty cool idea to play with if you ask me.

You can always levitate/animate small plastic lighters (maybe a Zippo with a Kevlar IT but I doubt it), but I don't think you can keep them lit while doing so unless you turn them into "gas candles" by screwing with the mechanism.

I also saw a nice trick in a video of a Fantasio lecture, where he did a lighter penetration trick by customizing an old color changing lighter, I don't really remember it fully but if you have a color changing lighter or know how one works you can pretty much get the idea of how it’s done.

Oh yeah, and if you know a thing or two about chemistry and can get the materials you can make "color changing flames" by burning different kinds of metals.
