Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

I very seldom do card tricks - and when i do my shuffle is usually very untidy. I had a rock climbing accident a couple of years back which crushed my left hand - so it's now a little clumsy. Its not uncommon for me to drop a card or two on the floor while shuffling. I am, however, able to control a card quite well while I do that - but it's the last thing anyone is expecting me to do. Now I know the card guys will crucify me for this - but hey, it works for me
