Worth watching just for the ending...

And you have to admire the fan he does for selection of a card. :D

If he does, I highly doubt he teaches and I highly doubt it's in english. Google him, he has a website. I saw it once but the URL escapes me at the moment.

Thanks,

Yeah, he has three DVDs and they are just the three seasons to his show. I was looking at the Japanese one, by the way.

Thanks,

I don't think much of it to be honest. Firstly I know of a gimmick that could be used to create the effect (expensive, which seems to be the rule with cyril) but that's not the issue, I don't know why he had to show the back of the card. It would have been much nicer, and possible, to show the face of it on the otherside of the glass.

The artist who does not rise, descends.

But surely, knowing how an effect is done does not detract from the enjoyment :? . I'm not normally a fan of that style of trick, but was particularly impressed by the 'wet' napkin ending 'tis all

Not sure of the gimmick you mentioned so can't comment on why he showed the back of the card, i assumed it was because of the torn corner.

I beg to differ. Knowing how a trick works ruins it for you. Think of when you were younger and you saw a magician perform a seeming miracle, like an ACR. Now you're older and you know how it's done. Do you still get the surreal "magical" feeling when you see it done by someone else, or are you watching and silently critiqueing the method? Now imagine the kind of let dow n a spec feels when he realises the difference between what he perceives and what actrually hapens. He feels almost cheated, as if you've been lying to him. That's half the reason why I'm so against exposure.

Tomo, you're correct in that now I'm older and am a magician, i don't get the 'magical' feeling i used to when i was younger. Although now, i enjoy watching magic in a different way, it's a different kind of enjoyment. I get a thrill just from seeing how great it can look, even if i do know how it is done.

But maybe I'm just an excitable chap

well apparently cyril also does have a few lessons on how to perform some of his magic. Its not any of his major tricks, just some stuff you would probably learn from a goody bag or something.
His card through window no doubt is expensive, but i guess its expenisve for a reason. It would kind of kill of the effectiveness of the trick if every magician was doing it.
