Daryl's Card Revelations

Postby Rushie » Aug 18th, '06, 14:43

Hello all

Has anyone got this set of 5 DVD's? I want to buy them but I also have Michael Ammar's Easy to Master Card Tricks. I don't want to buy another set of DVDs only to find that tricks are repeated.

Thanks for any info

Hi i used to have theseon video and found some of the effects pretty lame but you do get some good ones on there too. but michael ammars dvds are true classics, then again its all personal taste. basically all the videos are are of different ways too reveal a chosen card.

Rushie,
I own these on VHS. As above they are just a selection of vids showing different ways to reveal a chosen card. I started with vol.2 (only because 1 was out of stock) and was quite impressed. As we all know CUPS kicked in and before I knew it the reamining 4 vids were on my doorstep. The videos do get progressivly weaker, I get the impression that the effects could have been condensed to 3 vids, but there are some goodies scattered throughout. Not the kinda thing that you would want to watch all the way through in one sitting, but good for a quick hit every now and again.

So do I regret the purchase?
In some ways yes, I should have stopped at vol.3 as I think this is more than enough. You cant really do many of these reveals in a routine, as it is pretty basic, and many are similar.

In other ways no. Daryl is a great teacher, and I learnt a lot from his spec management, and interaction with specs. I also got them from International Magic in London for £7 each! So i got the set for £35. I have spent a lot more for a lot worse (IMHO) stuff.

If you can get them for a good price then go for it at least vols 1 & 2. Although I guess on DVD they are still high.

Hope that was helpful.

Thank you both for your info. I think I will buy the first two and see from there. Magic Al, you were right they are still £25.00 each on DVD
