Hey, I'm Ed, I live in London and I've been learning magic for 2-3 years now.
I 'specialise' in close-up coin magic. I can't stand gimmicks and gizmos, I prefer using sleights to end up with a clean finish and a more reliable effect!
I'm into street magic as well, I think Blaine's magic was great, but I wasn't impressed by him using actors in some of his shows. I have to admit, Blaine was the magician that inspired me to learn more about magic, so I have always wanted to perform inpromptu magic wherever I am, in his style.
I also love big, glitzy stage magic shows. I think the lights, set and design of it all can really enhance a simple trick. David Copperfield's 'Flying' impressed me because it made a magic trick more of a piece of art than a thing to question 'How is it done?'
I've always had an interest in the Raven even though it relies on a complicated gimmicky system. I've never actually tried using one, but have heard a lot about them. Is it worth investing in it, anyone?
