Yeah well, at least you have Toronto next door to you. I can't see them not having anything. I would have bet good money that Ottawa would have some kind of magic event

By the way, how long is the drive from Ottawa to Toronto?

The Allmagic site has a calendar of Internatinal events but nothing showing for Canda at the moment. Check out
http://allmagic.com/magicshow/calendar/view.cgi and perhaps ask Craig Dickson if he knows of anything scheduled for your part of the world.

For any Winnipegers on here, I've found a great magic shop! It is called Toad Hall Toys and it is downtown. They have a counter and a bookshelf worth of stuff, but there is a magician there every Saterday. I saw him and have to say that I was pretty impressed. They have a great selection of gaff decks, books and DVDs. I would have to say that it is the best magic shop in the city.

It is indeed true to say that it is the best magic shop in the city. Of course it is the ONLY magic shop in the city and that I suspect may have somethng to do with it.

I thought I saw one or two more magic shop in the yellow pages. But I really doubt that they can top Toad Hall.

why don't you guys start your own club?
Get some friends together. Pick a day in a month and start a club.
I'm thinking of doing that when I get back to Edmonton. If there's not a club there already.

There IS a magic club in Winnipeg. I actually did a lecture there once unless I am imagining it.

There certainly was a few years ago. In fact I could swear that I was told there was three. In any event I expect the people at Toad Hall will know.

I disagree. Toad hall has been very disappointing to me.. on 5 visits now they have not had what i am looking for. nor will they order it for me. I do agree that the magistion on sat is clever. but the rest of the days its those 2 ladies and they are clueless... also I have been looking for a black deck of cards forever.. NO ONE HAS THEM! anyway for lack of options they are nto to bad, but I do think a new store could be used!

I did a show in Edmonton in September and was absolutely unable to track down anything magic related (shows, shops, or meetings) at all...let me know when you get back to Edmonton and I will be sure to look you up the next time I am in town.
