lol i love the tt its one of my favourite props, infact ive used it that many times at work that its realy fiflthy nearly black lol and no one has ever seen it so i wouldnt worry about the colour, infact while im on the subject im gunna pop over to emagic and bye meself a new one.

I agree with all of you,I have using the TT for many yaers now mainly doing cigarette in jacket at clubs, parties etc. and I never yet been caught. As it's been said before practice, practice, practice is the only way to get used to using it.

talking as we were anyone got or knows about the invisible tt, is it worth the money as a regular tt should not be seen anyway.

Apologies for nudging an old topic back to life but some folks may be interested in a new development. As many of you will know, one of our longest standing members, Tom Lauten, is a wiz at film and TV special effects, makes his living out of it, and spent some months this year working in New Zealand on projects associated with Peter (Lord of the Rings) Jackson's forthcoming new films. Tom has applied his skill and experience to producing TT's which are far more realistic than any currently available. OK, I know folks will readily point out that a standard TT is quite good enough as it's only worn for a short time, ditched asap, and kept on the move so the spec's don't get chance to glimpse it and there's nothing wrong with that point of view at all. Tom's creations are alternatives, not replacements, and just take the whole thing a little further into the realms of 'What if?' What if you didn't need to keep it on the move, what if you didn't need to steal and ditch rapidly, what if you wanted to perform in a no sleeves, no pockets, no stealing/ditching/ distracting moves environment?

Forum etiquette prevents Tom from mentioning all this himself in the open area but there's no reason why it can't be mentioned by someone else so, if you're curious and want to know more, have a look at http://www.nimbacreations.com/toms/default.htm and then at the rest of the website to see the pedigree of these items. Although information on these has only recently been made available, there is already a waiting list which includes high level professional Magicians. Nuff Sed!

Well, I have to say that I hadn't used my TT for some time but having read this thread I decided to play around for the past few days. The result was that I used a TT in my performance last night for some simple silk vanishes etc.

The comments made by others in this thread are so right in that people just don't expect and therefore don't look. If handled correctly, and I'm pleased that I did after such a long time then as I rediscovered, the audience were totally baffled.

Well I just found an excellent site to buy thumbtips. Those are the most realistic TT I have ever seen. They are expensive but wow, they look so natural. Check this out

Just for fun.....I took a permanant black marker and colored an old TT solid black. I on the other hand have a dark skin tone, but am white through and through.

I did my normal routine (in a mirror) and it was fairly obvious, but considering that I knew it was there....not to bad.

I then did my routine but paid big time attention to hiding my TT (I imagined it to be pink, and asked myself how I would work the routine if that were the case) and with very little effort it was hardly noticable at all.

So.....for the skeptics out there (I was one that beleived the tone should be kiinnndddd of close) it is completely true.....tone is only relavant if you make it. Don't treat it as though it will perfectly hide your work, use it as a small aid and figure out how to work with it.

my wife knows about TT's and my tricks with them, every couple of weeks I vanish something very simple and she NEVER sees it,because just as mentioned before is this thread they dont expect it. I was even brave enough to do a tt vanish in front of a kid who had just been given a tt and shown it to everyone else, 'wow mister how did you do that?','learn proper magic and don't use cheap gimmicks' was my reply.

That was a kinda rude reply to a children You should'nt be that evil lol

I know nasty was'nt it, the guy was a spoilt brat, his parents shouted and even swore through the show as did he Usually I compliment the kids like mad about their interest in magic even if their tricks are awful, they love it and the parents love it! (good for getting other shows) Who knows with just this little bit of encouragement they might grow up to love magic as much as us.
But this whole group of people were just bad, I hate to say it but I got loads of pleasure out of putting him in his place

When I was young I would frequent a magic shop owned and operated by Russ Delmar called the Magic Circle. Russ was one of the nicest people in magic and would give you the shirt of his back if it would help you.

Along with a cat that did a card trick Russ was known for fooling people with a TT the was completely silver. A metal tip that he had removed the flesh color from. I loved watching him do it. So Impressed was I that when I would give lessons I would give my students a silver tip to practice with.

Metal tips are hard to come by these day and rarely do I have time for students but I believe the point to be sound. ITS NOT THE TIP BUT THE TIPPER if you get my drift.
