Hello from Iceland

Postby gunnarkr » Aug 28th, '06, 00:06

Hello all!
I'm Gunnar, I live in Kopavogur Iceland and I am a true amateur of magic. The origin of the word "amateur" comes from latin or French, quite related to the word "amour" which means "love". So, an amateur is someone who "loves what he's doing" :D
I fell in love with magic around the age of 8 or 9, when my father bought me some magic tricks in London. At the age of 12 I performed magic on the National Television and showed to more than family and friends.
After studying design, creating a family (I have 3 sons), establishing a home and work my a** off, I had trouble finding spare time for magic. Now I'm 46 and I found my love again for magic, mainly card magic.
As you could imagine, with a nation of 300.000 people, we don't have any magic shop in our country, but I travel abroad every year and I order through the Internet, so I have collected quite some books, VHSs and DVDs, along with buying individual tricks.
What I am looking for here, is a place to meet other likewise interested, read reviews and share ideas... maybe more.
At the moment I'm looking for an A-Z teaching methode of riffle shuffle in the air, so I would appreciate any hints or advice where to find the best teaching.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!
