Another Trick...Ruined

Postby Dominick » Aug 30th, '06, 02:05

I've been surfing YouTube folks. And I've come across another trick that has been ruined by someone who posted a "Helpful Tutorial." I'm not going to say which trick it is, as people might search it. I can tell you however, it is a Paul Harris trick. I was wondering if there was any way I could contact him and tell him what's going on. Several people have alerted YouTube, but not much action has been taken. So if there were an e-mail address or some other way I could contact someone that works with him or he himself, that would be great.

Thanks,
Dominick

Youtube can be such a pain when it comes to exposures! No only does it expose the trick itself (wich is bad), but it only shows that 2minutes where they unveil all the tricks, mostly how it works (wich is real bad!). People never bother to put the "why it works" part on the net because it normal people don't care, they just want to satisfy their craving and think they can perform miracles juste because they know how it works. Next thing you know, they awfully perform it (bad timing, no misdirection, no talking and so on) and the trick is spoil.

One rotten apple for Youtube and all them spoilers :P!

He only revealed two tricks and you had to pay for them (except for the scumbags who sold pirated copies for free and/or posted them on the internet) Its free to view videos on youtube so anybody can see the exposed tricks for nothing. This has to stop as its ruining it for other people including professional magicians

well you know. things like this happen.
some hate it, some don't. in my opinion, i don't mind. i've watched lots of freebies on the net, and it's helped me personally. i don't bother with them much anymore.
and if there are freebies, it should drive yourself to make the trick better, by changing it slightly or what not.

and, this is the important point. i think, that not many people bother to check youtube or what not to see how the trick is done. i just can't picture somebody performing a trick and the spectator going home on the net and trying to find how it's done.
well.. i think it's sad if you do. lol

but it is annoying when secrets are given away - more so when I've handed over cash to buy the proper 'manual'.

I have reported a few to various inventors, at least they could do something about it I suppose.

"Things like this happen"

Thank Heavens not everyone has this attitude or we wouldn't many creators sharing their material with us. If you want them to keep creating, support the creators.

I think there will always be people exposing tricks online as its hard to police the internet. You might be able to get one clip/site shut down but another one might pop up in its place. Frustrating to say the least

Actually, Criss Angel revealed a trick on his TV show were you rub lipstick into the top of your hand and it appears on the bottom of the spectators hand. I wont go over how its done here.
