Super Smash Bros. Melee

Postby homsar » Aug 30th, '06, 17:04

Does anyone else here play Super Smash Bros. Melee (SSBM) on Nintendo Gamecube. Its my other hobby. I have invested hundreds of dollars in tournament fees/transport/etc. to try and get better. SSBM is one of the most popular games around and is one of the main featured games at Major League Gaming (mlgpro.com) Events along side Halo 2. If you are intrested in getting better at this game or just are a fan of it a great place to discuss it is at smashboards.com

So, are any of you into SSBM? Or any other games?

I have played it but I wouldn't say I was 'into' it

I think this might end up going to the SinBin because it is agains TM's rules to 'advertise' other forums.

However seeing that the other forum is for gaming it might be OK.

i've played SSBM quite a bit. I don't know how I would compare to other players but i'd say I'm alright at it. Tis fun.

Well, I dont want to advertise, its more there if your intrested/prove it has a following and isnt just a standard game. I really just want to see what you think about the game. If you want I can take that part out.

Ya, the mechanics of the game play a large roll. If you study the mechanics you will realize there are ways to increase your abilities/make you faster/etc.
It makes the game much deeper.\

Mario party eh? I like it, but I think it got a bit silly after 3.

yeah. when i first got the game, i thought it would just be a normal super smash bros game. simple and easy. i was pretty good at ssbm, dodging and everything but i didnt do any tournaments or anything. im intrested more techical games such as guilty gear and street fighter and more recentaly Gunz the Duel (NOT KING OF FIGHTERS BAH.) :x too hard.

but recently i found out that ssbm is actully pretty technical and complecated (wavedashing!).i tempted to go get my gamecube and start playing. but the wii is coming out and i dont want to get good at melee when brawl might be completly different. i'll hold out till brawl to start to practice alot.

by the way. does anybody play guilty gear here?

?!~

I've played the original Super Smash Brothers on Nintendo 64, it was a good game but I was only borrowing it and couldn't really get into it.

Hopefully if I see it, I will buy Super Smash Brothers. Melee for Gamecube.

But Most of the shops in my town don't do Gamecube games anymore, I have to travel far and wide to find games.

So how about other Cube games?; Pikmin, Super Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart Double Dash, Luigi's Mansion etc. They're all classics.

The Cube is perfect for me. I have not got time to play that regular and do not buy a big collection either. I could not do without my Zelda fix though..

My list of Great games on the cube...(in no order)

Spiderman 2

Zelda

Prince of Persia 1

Outlaw Golf

Mario Party (all of them)

Mario Sunshine..

I love platform games and RPG's like mario sunshine and starfox adventures. The last good game I played was resident evil 4 and I got so close to completing it and then I got stuck and haven't played it since.
