Putting a card back into the deck.

Is there any sleight that lets you put a card into or on the top/bottom of the deck without being noticed? Right now, I just palm a card to do this, but if you aren't using the deck, it looks susspisious if you keep reaching for it and not realy doing anything.

you could just keep it palmed until you do pick up the deck at an appropriate time

You may be interested in a sleight called Marlos Tilt. Its not exactly what you need but it wouldnt be that hard to adapt.

I was born with Multiple Personality Disorder. Luckily, they are all me, they just dont always get along...

imnot exactly sure what your looking for... from what i gather you want to put a card into a deck but without reaching for or touching the deck?

Well, palming it would be your best bet, either that or you have to hide it in/under something that you can explain being put near the deck. An other option would be to pretend to take the card (like in the Invisible Palm routine) and put the deck aside.

The issue I see with your problem is that the card has to get to the deck, so you can either palm it, transfer it under cover of some other object, or never actually take it from the deck.

Double undercut? A bit more of the routine might clear it up somewhat :)

Isn't Marlos Tilt the one Jay Sankey uses quite a bit, selected car appears to go into the middle of the deck but instead goes 2nd from top.

If I'm right this is on loads of Jays videos, the most recent of which I watched being the sanker/sanders sessions, I forget if it was vol 1 or 2.

Pretty good & easyish move too boot :)

Well, I guess I wasn't too clear with what I want  . Basicly, I just wan't a way that I can put a card back on to the deck without people noticing. I've been palming a card and pattering while I grab the deck and return the card and that seems to be working, but I havn't run into anyone who watches my hands like a hawk yet. I can't tell you much about the effect I am using it for, because it would probably expose the secret (I came up with the effect myself, though I'm not sure I invented it). But I will look into the Marlos Tilt. Thanks.

I've noticed this is becoming more common, and will surely start the Marlo bashers up! The sleight is called 'TILT' (amongst other things :) ) not 'Marlo's TILT'.

Ed was extremley prolific, and invented/pioneered much good card magic, if you read the original booklet or Racherbaumers 'Flashpoints' though, you will see the only thing he claims in this case is the name 'TILT', the write up and the sleights application to effects.

Hope this helps, and prevents people jumping on the Marlo bashing bandwagon!

All the best,
John

Without palming I think the only other option is to not really take it from teh deck in the first place.
