try adjusting the pressure in both your grip and the hand your spreading with. um and practice. it took me a couple years of constant fanning to get nice even fans.

I don't know about Canada, and I am from the US so I could be wrong, but the "peace sign" with the back of the hand away from you in England (I believe) is the equivilent of giving someone "the finger" in the US.

Thanks for clearing that up for me!!! I knew it was something offensive after the response someone said so I immediately took that down. No hard feelings hopefully.

For those with a historical bent, and as an explanation for those in countries where it is not abusive, it was originally an insult aimed specifically at the French!

When the French caught an English archer they would cut off those two fingers so they could no longer use a bow. Archers used to taunt the French with the 'V' sign to show that they still had their fingers and were about to kill some frenchies.

I respect that BUT you have to also realize alot of us in Canada and for most parts of America really dont pay attention to much of that. All we really know down here in Canada is the f finger lol. Anything els we dont pay attention too. I never thought in a million years if someone gave me the peace sign maybe they were telling me to F*** off.... Just never occured to me nor should it because nobody really knows about that down here.

Body language actually has different meanings in different countries.

In some countries, if you point at your head, it means "clever" but in other countries "stupid". The victory sign done with the index finger and middle finger has a complete different meaning, if you turn the back of your hand forward, than if you turn the palm forward.

I do realise that, I was just providing an interesting titbit of information so that you would understand where the sign (possibly) came from and why it might be considered offensive. It is generally considered more to be a bit cheeky these days, but can occasionally be used in as offensive a manner as the middle finger.

It might also give you a little insight into why you might take a long time to get served 2 beers in a pub in the UK!

well, i was going to say more about it but nickj got there first.
and it's so true, it's like making the O.K sign in some countries is the same as calling them a w***** (don't want to think too much about that one). and god help and left handed people who go to Moors country!
