Not too shabby, sir. Nice to hear some AC/DC, too!

Your fans could use some work. You looked like you were really focusing on doing that pressure fan, but you wound up only fanning about 10-15 cards with a huge chunk at one side. Also your two-handed fan needs some practice. I can't help you here, since I'm probably the WORST person to talk to with fanning (someone like Stevebo I'm sure can help you out), but regardless, those two flourishes need polishing.

The "cards" segment was a bit of a let down for me. You had your titles introduce different areas of magic, and in each of those areas you show a bit of magic - but when the cards come in, you do a few fans, a couple flourishy cuts, but no magic. For the sake of consistency, I would try to film a few clips of card effects to put in this segment. Preferably something very visual.

Nice effort. I look forward to seeing the upcoming street magic video.

It was good. I also cannot do that. I'm afraid when it comes to flash and cool flourishes, I'm a big dud.

The following is my opinion and nothing more. Please take that in mind before you read it. But if you want my feedback, this is it.

I think the video itself is well put together. But, I do not like the image you are putting across and here is why.

You say it is a new era for magic, but you are doing old tricks. You put on the image of a dangerous "bad ass" type. Which is fair enough and I am all about that if that is what you want. The problem I see with it is, when I think bad ass I do not see a guy playing with cards, rubber bands, and little red balls. I think the image is incongruent to your style and the type of magic you are advertising IN the advert.

For instance, Criss Angel is using the dangerous and dark side to boast him and his magic is usually grotesque or highly shocking. Sure he might do somethings here and there which is tame or regular street magic, but it is all supplimental to his "headline" effect.

I want you to understand that I am not trying to offend you, or be nasty and rude. It is meerly my honest thoughts and opinions about your video. And this in no way reflects an opinion of you as a magician, as I am quite familiar with your work and think you are skilled.

ditto. i agree with the above.
however, your the guy i saw on youtube, one of your videos where you coff out the card. thats you. when i first saw that trick i thought it was amazing, thus i've made my own version.

you got skills to pay the bills.

however, I'm not to keen on the subtitles to different magic, e.g coins. and i think when you start doing flourishes with the cards, you should maybe do a short a.c.r to top it off.
but good work. ac.dc rock

The Waterwheel Production needs a little work, and like others have stated before me, the card portion was a bit of a let down. Good though!

Thanks,

Nice video Mr. Mystery, I agree with all that has been said above, in particular, the Goshman(/Tenkai) looks a bit strained, but then that's probably just me knowing what I'm looking at. A word of warning though - you use ACDC music on your video - if you want to use it as promotional material then you would be well advised to change the music as there are copyright issues with you using somebody elses music. I made a promotional video a while back now and was fortunate to have someone produce it who could put uncopyrighted music to it.

Agreed about the music. Even using music protected under copyright on a personal page can land you in a bit of trouble. I suggest you find some free domain music or make it yourself. Getting permission to use that music probably won't be cheap or easy, unless you are lucky.

I make all of my own music, but I am an audio engineer and composer. So I have an easy time of it.

I am not offended guys at all, it is your opinion and i respect that.

What I am trying to do is take the older effects and make them look new again.

some of the fans do need work and I agree with you all, I will change the music.

The goshman balls i agree needs some work as well, I agree.

The thing is though, Old tricks can become new again.... david blaine did it, im sure criss has done it.

I just want to revamp the older tricks becuase they have so much personality, and i really think they can be spiced up to be made more amazing, thats just my opinion.

this video was just to show my skills, and what level I really am at is all. But more feedback would be apreciated.

Well said, Mr. Mystery.

If you love performing these effects, continue to do so. There's a reason these "old" tricks hang around. Your magic is meant to entertain - but above all else, your magic must have meaning and purpose FOR YOU. Unless that passion is in you, it will never truly reach your audiences.

Ohhh was excited to see multip balls.. but why did you go short on that? Was hoping to see more. 3,4 etc...
I know you were sticking with some old Skool.. however, said you wanted to bring out a new era of magic. If so, I would add in some new stuff out there with similar effect. Ie. Canz by Kevin Parker vs the balls.

I agree with alot of the above posts. Fans and flourishes need touch up. Do love the tunes, but agree- if promotional, can get you in trouble unless given permission.

One handed cuts and shuffles were decent.

Suggestion.. Practice the one handed shuffle with your weaker hand as well, if not already doing so.

I was always told to do so by a fellow magician many moons ago, and after breaking my right hand during a ski accident, I was forced to do just that as I was still working in a magic shop.

now, I can do one handed shuffles with both and at the same time. Nothing more than fancy dancy, but fun to do when sitting down with the boyz at the poker table. (Guess who never gets to deal? )

Keep up the good.

Just to clarify, I was referring to the Goshman pinch not balls (equivalent to a Tenkai pinch) in my previous post. Nice to see someone accepting constructive criticism well - best of luck.

guys I really enjoy the honest feedback, im not like any other magician and get all offened and mad. I know i need work to do, and i continue to work at it.

Magic is my life, and its something that has always been there for me in the hard times. Making people happy and entertained just gives me this rush of life and really makes me feel good as a person.

My purpose is to just forget about all of your problems, and for that one momment we are all one. we dont have to worry about paying bills, court, gf's.

If i can make someone happy then i know my job is done, and if i amazed or inspired anyone in the process, then thats cool too.

Magic is meant to be enjoyed, and i really enjoy hearing you guys give me feedback, becuase withought it I would be where i am now.

Without you guys I wouldnt be able to be as mature as a magician then i would three years ago when i started.

Thank you guys, and keep the feedback going

we all have some things we need to work on, so im not offended at all, thanks!!!

It's nice to see a range of effects from you as all nearly I've seen so far have been card tricks, you obviously have the right attitude towards your magic and the replies you get on this forum so keep up the good work.
