Lack of magic shops

Postby killerfroggy » Sep 5th, '06, 08:31

Does anyone know of any magic shops in Northern Ireland. There used to be one in Belfast near smithfield but it closed years ago. I think if one was to open in Belfast it would do a lot of buisness with the resurgance in magic because of Blaine and Brown ect.

I looked it up for you at this website

http://www.ipswichmagicalsociety.co.uk/linshopregion.htm?region=Ireland

but there doesn't appear to be one in ireland!!

I know it's a pain though, becauser there doesn't appear to be one in the whole of wales either!!

The nearest one to you (geographically), according to that site, would be Glasgow or Blackpool!

You should save up and open one, you'd make a killing...

There is a small magic shop on Mallow Street (Across from the bus station) in Limerick down in the republic.

That is the only one I know of in Ireland.

Limerick is a wee bit out of my way but the next time I thinking of taking a holiday i might give it a go. As I am currently unemployed :( i have no way of getting the capital to open a magic shop but theres always the Lottery. I cant even remember the last time I saw a magician advertised here in Belfast so hopefully I can get good enough to take that market.

You know penguinmagic will ship to europe for free now don't you? Down here in Kerry the last package I ordered only took three or four days to arrive.

I know about penguins shipping policy but I think it is much better talking to a person rather than just ordering an effect. Plus they can give you tips / help as you purchase as well. When the magic shop was still open in Belfast when i was a kid I remember buying a trick deck of cards and getting two ways to use the trick showed and explained to me there in the shop. I only wish I had kept practicing from then rather than starting only this year but i mean to carry on as a hobby / party trick type thing plus its a good way to get numbers :D
