I am trying to make an avatar using the GIMP and i can seem to get the size down to the 8 kb required if anyone uses this and knows of a way could they please let me know. I am going to put my efforts of an animated Gif on to my website if anyone would have a look and tell me what they think. The website is only new and is a shambles at the minute so please escuse the layout and the amount of adverts many of which are going to get cut as of today as are many pages. I managed to get one down some size so here is my efforts:

I've got the file size down to a bit below your 1.3MB (:!:) but unfortunately I don't think you can get that detailed an animation any smaller without losing a LOT of frames or colours...

Try a non-animated avatar maybe?

Cheers for trying. I dont mind losing a few frames and for some reason it seems slower than it does when previewed using the GIMP so im gonna drop a lot of frames and try again. Hopefully it will work.

Ps what do you think of the art work on the cards?

I opened it in Fireworks and it was set to 1/3 second per frame which was way too slow - it's now down to 7/100 of a second. Unfortunately if I set it to under 8kb it reduced it to about 5 colours and it looked nothing like a card changing. Maybe just spades/hearts or something like that?

Went out for a few pints of guinness so im gonna work on it tommorow as im gonna have another few tinnys then head to bed and watch sin city. Im going to cut it to just a colour change hearts / spades.
