iPod / mp3 player

Postby midge25 » Sep 5th, '06, 14:59

I am looking at getting a 60gb ipod to store all my music files and some video.

Now i have heard good and bad reports about these regarding battery life.

Does anyone have any advice or give any alternative recommendations, for an mp3 player of a similar size?

I have a creative zen sleek photo 20GB and it holds my entire music collection. The battery isnt bad but isn't great either - if you don't listen to it for a while (a couple of weeks) you have to recharge it again but then again I've never tested how long the battery can last (it says 19 hours)
I didn't even know they made 60GB ones. How much music can you fit on one of them I wonder?

I've JUST bought a 60GB iPod a week ago and love it. The black ones appear to be VERY scarce at the moment though - there are lots of white ones about

I've not had any issues with batter life and have had about 10 hours out of the music side with only half of the battery showing as being used.

Overall I'm chuffed with it.

4 gigs is all that i need though, i can just switch the songs that i want and dont want prety fast

I had the 4 gig nano and upgraded because I as impressed with it and wanted my music collection on it. I'm up to 40Gb at the moment of music

[upgraded? could you swap it in or something?]

I have a zen micro and an iPod Nano 4gig [white]. At the minute i am just using my iPod Nano. the battery life is fine, as long as you don't charge it like a PSP can and wait until the battery is drained. If you ever ythink the battery life has shortened by alot, you just contact apple or go to the nearest apople shop and they simply give you a new iPod!

Actually in my iPod instructions it reccomends that you let the battery run down every now and then.

If I ever get an iPod-esque player it will probably be the Meizu M6. Cheaper than a nano, same size, and much bigger screen. And plus, it's not an iPod!

I Love my iPod. My current one is the 60gig w/video. That is my third, I started with the 40gig, then the 40gig photo, then the 60. All are working, my sone has the 40 B&W and my wife has the photo. The click-wheel makes them very easy to use and I have had no problems. But, like anything, you should go to a shop and try them out for yourself. I love the iPod interface, some people do not so you should hold them, play with them, and see what "feels" best to you.

my minidisc player sadly died the other week, so i bought a creative zen v 1GB, its tiny! and rather lovely...just like brittany murphy...

hmmm britanny murphy...

yes, sorry - what was i saying? yeah, im very impressed with it actually, the colour screen is half the entire size of the player, simple menus, and most importantly...its got a line-in socket!

all for £60 too...black and orange...infinitely superior to an i-pod in my opinion...i dont want my entire music catalogue on my player, just a few hours worth...and a few silly photos to make me laugh...and i like being able to change the screen orientation and stuff like that too...nice little calendar and tasks on it...lovely...

some interesting opinions here, my main criteria is the capacity and i cant find anything else at the moment that offers the same size as the ipod 60 apart from archos and these are a lot dearer
