I'm curious how many of you are left handed and if you get confused like me when you're learning a effect with the instructions from a right handed persons perspective.
I mostly reverse some (if not all) from right to left but its still confusing - I just learnt a effect called "four sight" which I had to do all right handed (even though I'm not used to fanning the deck right handed) because it just doesn't work if you do it the complete opposite (even though I do all my other effects left handed)
I don't think it makes much difference but I do have to read the instructions over several times and then try it out several more times with a deck of cards (which I guess is normal - you might not understand how an effect works the first time around)
Does the spectator really notice if you use different hands for different effects or do they even care? I'm guessing that they might notice if they are friends or family because they've probably seen you writing and eating etc with your dominant hand.

I know there are a few of us southpaws here...

The basic moves that I need for most effects I can do left-handed because I know them already. Some sleights I tend to have to do following the instructions first just to see what they look like and then I can repeat them left-handed. And some things (peeks especially) can't be done left-handed, you need to come up with new ones if you want to do them.

For some reason, I do everything left handed except play guitar, and my card work :? I do these right handed.

Check out the card magic of Darwin Ortiz and Bill Malone, both southpaws.

There must be others.....

Hmm ...... got me thinking now. I wonder if it's possible to buy left-handed cards - so that the numbers are on the top right and bottom left corners of the cards, instead of the usual top left and bottom right (I think I've got the correct way round :? )

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

Cards for left handed people have the value in all four corners :P

You're right he is indeed left handed but he teaches all the tricks in his "Street magic" book from a right handed persons perspective
