is anybody else getting worried about you-tube, there seems to be an awful lot of 'tutorials' in there which if any laymen wanted to find, they could, it would be very easy.

There are also a lot of videos i have seen where under a trick there are comments such as "i liked it but you D-L (they don't sensor this part!!) needs work etc etc.

Why are these people doing this?, do they want something they spent hours learning to be ruined.

what does everyone else think, am i right....missing the point or just a born whinger??

I think that really suck.
If they expose too much, the magic will slowly die... I mean, ok, people have to actually LOOK FOR the instructions, but if it grows too much on youtube, we'll hear more and more "I saw that on the net, I know how it's done" from our audiences...

Well this was the point i tried to make the other day, some clips are being taken down  but there is too much of this thing. I won't start ranting as all Tm regulars know my feelings on the matter

There've been a few discussions about this. Personally, I think this is why you shouldn't do a trick just as it comes out of the packet, because the chances are increasing that some sod somewhere will recognise it and say, "Oh, I saw that on YouTube".

I think buying an effect is just the start. So, don't be afraid to strip it right down to its bare essentials and to build it up into something that's yours. Figure out all the parameters and see what happens when you change them. Hack it, in other words. :D

I hear you, though, Stephen. I think we should treat the products as raw material and adapt to the threat.

if you see something that shouldn't be there please click the Report As Abusive (or whatever it is they have) button! as an occasional youtube trawler i do often search the words Magic/Card Manipulation etc... and i do report anything i see that shouldn't be there. i encourage others to follow suit

would the you-tube administrator consider reavealing secrets to laymen as abusive though??

if so that would be quality, but i doubt they would...maybe if it was a manufactured and copywrighted trick?
