Oh dear, I just got a letter from Her Maj's government telling me that I overpaid tax to the tune of 470 quid last year so they've popped it back into my account for me.

Why 'Oh dear'? You ask. Well, I need a new car and that money would be very handy to put towards it. On the other hand it's a sunny Saturday and I'm kicking my heels with not a lot to do and Alakazam's a 20 minute stroll away. Past a cashpoint.

What shall I do?

Congratulations.

The only question I have to ask is...

Does your wife or girlfriend know about the money yet? :)

A car could get you to Alakazam faster than walking...

You're lucky that they gave it back - usually they just deduct the amount that they owe you, from the amount that they tell you that you owe them for the next year!

That may make spending it even more enjoyable

Weeelll, in the end I only bought Fancy a Pot of Jam? (see my review) as I didn't want to overload myself, or underload my wallet. The chinese idea is good though.

spend it...spend it all...

what sorta car you gonna get for that money? a scooter fair enough, but that money could also buy you some fine wines and cigars, a couple of good nights out, clothes and lots of magic books...
