Howdy, Bob.
First off, welcome to Talk Magic.
Secondly, I would advise against the purchase of gimmicks and one-hit style effects. It's always best to get in from the ground floor. It appears you're new to the art, and I am assuming you're mostly interested in coin magic. Here's a quick list of some things to get you started.
Bobo's Modern Coin Magic book - Pretty much the bible of coin magic. Everything from the super basic to ultra advanced is in here. This book alone can keep you busy for decades.
Some people prefer to learn visually, so I would also highly recommend David Roth's Expert Coin Magic Made Easy DVD series. Excellent resource that again starts with the foundations and moves on in difficulty.
There are so many more resources - I'm sure plenty of others (and more proficient coin works then I'll EVER be) will be around to point you in the right direction.
As for the video link - that effect was created by Talk Magic's own KEMS! Excellent effect, and one you can purchase by clicking the link to the flash magic shop (owned and operated by Talk Magic's own Stephenmagic).
Hope this helps you out. Take a look at the search function or just browse through the reviews forum - you'll find plenty more info on coin magic (as well as any other kind of magic) in there.
