OFU tutorial

Postby stevebo » Sep 15th, '06, 19:48

Right, here's a little something which I've created especially for the people here at TM. It's a 3 packet false cut which is relatively simple after some practice.

I've "wow"ed many people with this cut and I hope you like it too! :D

The cut is called OFU (One Face Up). The cut consists of a cardini cut which can easily be learnt off the video and also a deck flip by T.G. Murphy, which is a knack but generally fairly easy to pick up. If you can't do a deck flip, just dropping the packet will suffice.

The bonus Ace production isn't taught but if you can learn it from the video, good for you!

And I present to you, OFU.

Edit: I found a mistake in the video. Where it says "when in biddle grip in the left hand", I mean in the right hand.

Nice...I'm guessing you don't use it to make it appear as if you are cutting their card in to the deck as it's a bit too showy for that? But yeah, very nice indeed. I don't do much of this sort of stuff myself but may give it a go :D.

You'd be surprised but lots of people think I am actually mixing the deck. Last time, I gave the deck a few riffle shuffles and they said it was mixed. I gave the deck one last OFU cut and they were like "Woah! Now it's definetely mixed!". So... yeah :D

Very well done, both the cut and the video. You are making it difficult for some of us. Not only do we have to perform the effects (or flourishes) correctly but we have to do video production as well. :)

Err... I don't really undestand what you mean by making it hard for you?

I think he means to compliment you, saying that you're making it hard to match your standard?

Hehe, nice cut Steve, simple for people who aren't into too much flourishing but a nice little flashy one to people who are.

One thing to add, the deck flip in this video is not the T.G Murphy Deck flip, the T.G Murphy deck flip is the one in your avatar Steve. :P
In which it spins the oposite direction to where it is travelling, the deck flip in the video is one from Paul Harris' "Instant Replay" flourish, but much more cards.
