i got this earlier this week...this work is sheer joy...

i really like his performances, as said - subtle, laid back delivery...all the impact and "wow" on the effect as it should be... 9/10 from me...

I've just got this and I have to say, so far I'm very impressed. I think the delivery is great! Friendly, not arrogant etc. Plus the teaching is at exactly the right pace for me - it doesn't drag, but I don't find myself having to rewind that often. The effects are inheritently useable, and actually not too hard despite packing the wow factor. This is one of the best value DVDs I've bought in a long time, big thumbs up!

Do majority of the tricks require gimmicks/gaff cards (like 2wofaced?)

Most of the card tricks do not use gimmicks. There are a few exceptions, but even these are very simple; the most difficult to get hold of is probably the slightly specialist cards used in the sandwich effect (which is brilliant, by the way, and really quite simple to perform), but if you ever buy anything from NUMS or cards4magic you won't have a problem. Everything can be made very easily.

Quick tip - if you're the sort that plonks the DVD in and opens up a new pack of cards in anticipation (hey, you probably had to buy some new bikes to bump the postage into the "free zone"!), watch the first DVD *before* cracking into the cards - you'll thank me later

Just received this today and am really pleased with the quality of the stuff. As others have mentioned, it is well constructed magic, and though I am by no means an expert with cards, it looks like lots of it is within my reach. Thanks Dave for a great DVD.

PS they're selling them direct on ebay so you may pick up a bargain - I did!

Trickery definitely qualifies as magi-porn; you know, the stuff you just don't want anyone to know you have.

Two DVD's of card tricks - far too much in my opinion. It all got quite repetative and it's a job to choose a couple that stand out as they all start to look too alike :?

Magi-porn is a good description

That's less card tricks than in a book. I can't even begin a proper retort, I'm flabbergasted.

I have this DVD and I think it's pretty good.

As with any DVD some effects are stronger than others but I think that's essential in building a routine. Almost every effect on here is useable to some extent and he includes quite a few interesting folds and techniques along the way.

I haven't been working with cards that long and I'd say that this is a fantastic DVD for those who have a little experience and want to see some proper effects that aren't as challenging as some others I have seen on other DVDs.

9/10

well that cinches it-- someone invoked Paul Harris, the mention of a laid-back style (can't tolerate grandstanding myself) and 90% ungaffed? I'm sold.

This is available for us NTSC, Region 1 folks too, right?
