CHOPPING A BALL

Postby dat8962 » Sep 29th, '06, 22:36

I recently bought a set of 4 balls for a cups and balls routine that were chochet and had a very nice multi-coloured design. One of them is 'chopped' for use with a chop cup.

I would like to 'chop' a second one and was wondering if anyone had experience of gimmicking balls and could advise on the best way to do this, and if it could be done without undoing the ball?

Hmmmm. I had a problem with my chopped ball when I bught a chop cup. My solution? Take a pair of wire cutters and a paperclip... cut the paperclip into several small pieces and pokey pokey.

Hopefully you'll understand what I mean dat. Can't say too much as it would give the game away a bit...

PM me if you want more details :)

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

No worries dude. The only problem is, you either need strong nails or a plaster on your finger. Else it rips holes into you as you poke...

Should go in easily though and then you'll be locked, chopped, and ready to (not) roll!

ecko mate one word for you thimble nuf said.

with a crochey ball you can widen an are quite a bit to make hollow or even remove the filling then use wire wool as a replacement, then tease the threads back and add a bit of copydex or rubber sealent to the expanded area, has worked for me in the past.
especialy if your considering erm reverse chopping the ball.

Postby Allen Tipton » Oct 1st, '06, 11:58

:) Why not save yourself a lot of possible trouble and sore fingers and simply buy a new ready chopped ball ?

Nice to hear from you Allen - seems a while since you've been around.

Anyway, as stated this is rather a difficult as this particular chrochet pattern is custom made. The balls came in a set of four with only one chopped but on this occasion I'd prefer to have two sets of two balls with one in each set chopped.
