I can just see someone using that in their Metal Bending act

Cute, but I pray everyone understands that it's a Magic Trick and NOT Mentalism or even Mental Magic... (great sucker gag though for anyone that has a metal bending reputation)

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

is there a name for this effect? Where did you get it? Would you say it is suitable for restaurant table magic, or is it very angle sensitve or long reset time?

Its called Precious Metal, It is suitable for restaurants (I use it sometimes when I'm working in restaurants). It is angle sensitive, in the sence that you can't do it surrounded.

as for cost its £12.99 from here -> http://www.magicshop.co.uk/precious-metal-p-662.html
