I ask this because everyone has different styles and performs differntly.
Perhaps we can share Ideas and then we may pick up things from eachother to use in our own performances. Obviously we need to inject out on personality into our individual routines but ideas can be tossed around to see things from our fellow magicians perspective.
Ill start as its my thread.. and im fairly new so wouldnt mind feedback
My new routine is this..
approoach spectator and ask to borrow a coin they dont mind not having back.. I continue with revolution coin vanish. I ask for another coin of small value, often i get given a penny which I have them sign. I talk about how sometimes metal can melt under extreme heat and that the human body is capable of giving off such heat its just a matter of training the body to do so... i then perform the superman trick and bend their signed coin and return it to them.
I then pull out a pack of cards and say im pretty certain i can do the same with cards... the first trick i perform is the colt 45 pip switch.. this always gets great reactions and stuned silence... lol .. i can literally get rid of the gaffs blatantly in front of their face and set up for the 2 card monte because they are hawking the 4 of clubs still!! but i dont do it blatantly, though I could.. my patter for two card monte is 'you know the guys that do that thing with the ball and cups and you have to follow which cup the ball is under.. and you always choose the wrong cup.. my pockets aren't big enough to hold my balls
so I'll try it with cards.. ill use two cards.. make it easier for you..' then proceed two card monte.
After reactions I go straight into Ambitious card routine.. like this.. card chosen.. signed.. put in middle.. snap fingers card at top.. put card in specs closed hands.. show top card.. wave over hand they switch places.. put card in middle of deck.. have spec click hands over deck.. show top card.. not their card.. have them blow on it.. it changes to their card. put card face up in middle..do the invisible pass.. take top card and use it to turn second card face up.. cover with top card.. slide one.. two.. three and it changes to selcted card. Bend signed card put in middle snap fingers moves through deck to top..
Then for climax.. unbend the selected card.. have them sign the back of their signed card.. stand back and say 'watch close..' .. I proceed with torn..
then I hand them the torn and restored card.. signed face and back and say Thank You and slowly turn and walk away..
Thats It!! Ive thought the ACR might be a tad long but there is plenty of spec interaction and I want them to handle the card lots becasue of the 'torn' climax
