What Kind Of Music would Be Well Suited For Performing Fast paced illusions? i cant find any music. i REALLY would like to know the song that the pendragons used in 1993 "worlds Greatest Magic" for their performance of "Metamorphosis". it sounded like kingdom kind of music. its bothering me. if anyone knows, or has any other good songs..please inform me.

Admittedly I find it amazing that someone would ask this question but in that you have the answer is right in front of you... go with what "fits" the style you want to present. If you're doing a re-enactment of the Houdin show I don't think you want to use Peter Gabriel background scores... then again, I don't think Henery Mancinii would be appropriate either, you'd need to find scores appropriate to that era and if possible, find actual pieces he used.

James Demaire uses a lot of 30's & 40's big band music because he exploits the fact that he looks so much like Actor/Dance Fred Astair.

Why you young'ns love over-complicating something that should be rather logical I just don't know.

As Craig said, and sumed it up very well,"go with what suits the style of magic" just look at a demo of the DEVO's "Xtreme Card Manipulations" DVD's fast paced techno that realy fits the exhibition of card flourishes, if you are doing slow magic and want to go cheezy use Queen "it's a kind of magic"

I quite like using stuff like Enya, Clannad that kind of thing. But that all depends on your style, if you've got a darker style then goth metal might work better.

for fast paced illusions? you can't go wrong with a bit of psy-trance!

I actually like to use Herb Alpert and his Tijuana brass who do very light hearted instrumentals. Very good for comedy or lighthearted performances. Spanish Flea or Tijuana Taxi being my particular favourites

I've always wanted to do a performance to Steve Vai's For the Love of God guitar instrumental. It is such an amazing and magical song, and it is long enough to fit a whole routine into.
