OKEY!! finally the moment has arrived :D:D

for the last month and a half ive been watching my DVD's over and over again.. been several hours a day ( cause I like it so much ) neglecting some school work in the process
but tommorow I will find out if it was all worth it :D

Me and my neighbour are giving a party tommorow for about 26 ppl..
and one of the events is me doing a magic show :)
I got a nice table with a black cloth all set up and ready to go.. and as you can imagine im a little nervous, since its my first performance for such a big audience..

i've done some tricks at other parties, and did some at school.. but this time im prepared.. in my own environment  where every thing is they way i want it..

this is my show:

Card in hand exchange (forgot the real name)
Ambitious card routine
Triumph
Floating dollar bill
Biddle trick
Invisible Palm
Sponge ball routine
Jumping Gemini
2 card monte

The thing I'm worriying about the most, is going to fast, what Brad has warned me about a million times on the Dvd's :P
but im going to try to take time..

Ill tell you guys about how it went.. and hopefully a little video.. but its gonna be bad quality so I might not do it..
Soon my brother, who works at a TV station will record a little show, but he can't make it tommorow..

anyway, hope you guys cross your fingers for me :)
cause this will make or break me j/k 8)

Stay relaxed.....you will likely get a rush out of the performance, so enjoy the moment!

I remember my first performance, I was nervous as hell, but after I had done the first couple of tricks, I started to relax and it ended up going really well. So good luck and I will cross my fingers for ya. :D

Wow!

Here my story on my first planned performance..
as I said before I was kind of nervous, because there were so many people..
Not all of them fit into my room, but they tried anyway :)

I started the show by borrowing a spongeball that someone had behind their ear.. and I did a few spongeball tricks, than I started the card tricks, and they went okey.. offcourse I made a couple of mistakes.. which I felt really bad about.. but afterwards I asked a couple of friends even they even noticed anything.. and they didnt know what I was talking about..

anyway, somewhere into the performance I started the spongeball routine.. and this one guy.. who messed up my magic 3 weeks ago.. was at the party again.. (not by my invitation)
anyway.. he was sitting right next to me.. and I was so focused on not messing up, that I picked a spectator randomly and very quickly, and it was him arrggh! the trick went okey.. I did a spongeball vanish, and 2 appeared in the spectator hand..
but than he took a ball again.. and said ( come on do it again! come on come on!! cant do it now!! can you!!..

And I told him to just shut up, if he didnt want to enjoy the magic..
but it did mess me up.. and I kept thinking about it.. and he kept being anoying.. so I did one more trick, and cut off the performance..
and I felt really bad :(

but later on.. I did a couple of tricks for 3 people.. and they were so impressed! they thought I had supernatural powers and went crazy! and I ended up feeling good again!..

but when you guys do performances.. there must always be one guy that wants to discover your secrets by touching stuff.. and everything..
what do you guys do? and how do you get them to go away :P

What I learned:
- Dont do tricks I you havent mastered them through and through
- arrange the tricks in such an order, that you can go from one into another.. without having to do the whole set up.. sneaky sneaky infront of their eyes..
- The floating bill trick, is very impressive.. but the clean up is horrible

I had fun doing it! so did the spectators..
even though some things went wrong, and one of the spectators tried to mess thing up, I still think the performance went okey for my first time..

1) accept mistakes, the will happen, just have fun with them and ensure that one mistake doesn't lead to another because you start to become nervous or unsure of youself

2) The ignorant spec is a subject that has been covered tons on TM. I find that performing with the assumption that someone will be that way puts me in a mindframe to be ready for it rather than caught off gaurd. Have a couple of self working stunners that you can use them as your assistant on....that way the can try all they want to mess it up but can't.

3) Ignore them as well...focus your tricks at the people who are enjoying themselves...his annoyance will likely be called out by the other specs

I remeber my first performance the first table i messed up the second trick but i had an out and got away with it. The second table i got asked for my business card and after that i was confident and the whole show went well. I think after about 5mins and your settled in and getting good reactions i think youll be fine and you will breeze through it. Good luck :D
