Third degree burn / Stigmata

Postby Ingmar » Nov 7th, '06, 22:51

Hello,

I didn't really knew where to post this, so I did it here . In a couple of weeks I will be turning 16 (yeah!) and I wanted to ask my parents to give me a nice, visual trick. But I don't really know wich one to ask..

Third degree burn or Stigmata

I saw that the burns with third degree burn are very visual, but I haven't clearly seen the marks with Stigmata. Could someone help me make a decision? Price is not very important .

Thanks!
Ingmar

With Stigmata, you control how dark or how light the "burn" marks will be. That's all I can say without giving away the secret. I do not own 3rd degree burns, so I cannot really say which one is better. I will tell you this however, I performed this once for my class of about 28 people...they would not get off my back for over a week after I did it to find out how it was done. Now that is saying something. I highly recommend getting Stigmata, even if you end up getting third degree burns, this is a must have later on. In the DVD Wayne tells you how to make someones name appear on your arm...someone that you have never heard of before...the spectators thought of friend's name...Also, the meathod on which this whole trick is based is completely impromptu with no setup what-so-ever and can be done with anything...you can make a whole chapter from a book appear on your arm if you are skilled enough.

Look for Banackes (sp) dvd. His teaches stigmata as well, and more for the price. It is recomended over "stigmata." And yes they are the same, Wayne tought Bananchek the secret, and Ban credits him in the dvd.

I thougth that some have mentioned here that Banacheks version was limited as to what could appear on your arm.

Its exactly the same method, so with some thinking. the possiblities are numerous.

Personally, I would recommend Third Degree Burn more than Stigmata. Though not impromptu, it's a bit more flexible. I use the two in conjunction with one another, personally, but for a primary effect without having reliances on card control, I would recommend Third Degree Burn. Keep in mind, though, that it relies heavily on your patter and the atmosphere you create for it. It's not impressive if you just bust out with "LOOK ITS A BLISTER". Good luck!

No he decided to leave that one out. But the dvd teaches more overall than waynes. That move isnt new, pick up some mental books to find that out. And thats not the only way to do it either. All one needs is the basic method, and with some creativiy and imagination go from there.

Thanks David. I have been trying to decide between Stigmata and the PSI series, if the method is identical then the PSI series would be my choice. As you stated in later comment, there are many methods for obtaining the name.

in terms of what might appear as more "real" though, i would go with Stigmata though...

i've not got 3rd degree burn granted, but i would personally prefer a normal blister appearing, rather than a card named...

wayne's stigmata is worthwhile as a dvd i feel, you get a very interesting chat with him and Steve Shaw, and acidus novus included..

Thanks guys for the replies, but is there someone who has both and could tell me his/her opinion?

In my opinion go for:-

Stigmata, Easy to learn and you will always get tremendous reactions if performed well. The reactions i have had from stigmata are far superior to that of tdb.

Third degree burn is too an awesome effect but one that i personally never got on with, always had trouble with the blisters not being that visible, however it still creates a good reaction from your audience.

C.U.P.S Buy both and job is done.

As a newbie: any advice on what 'good mental books' might be?
