The only major problem I encountered while performing Penguin Monte is when performing on a table some people will start turning the cards over and exposing the secret. Then again, it only happened to me once and I've learned to manage those hecklers...
Exact, pro and cons...as with photographic lens :- ) there's no perfect version of the same trick sometimes...anyone performs the one that HE prefers!
