Anyone know where to get ....?

Postby ian69 » Nov 15th, '06, 16:42

Hi all,

I'm looking for something like a pack of cards with people's photos on or even a pack of 50 photos of people. It's for a variation on Living/Dead. Does anyone sell such a thing or will I have to make my own?

Cheers

Ian

Have you asked Clive at www.cards4magic.co.uk? I know you can get decks with photos of such things as James Bond stills, Harry Potter pictures and so on so there's a chance that they might know of something suitable. Failing that are there any in the Top Trumps range which might be suitable?

There's a deck that I've seen called the celebrity deck. I'm not sure what the pictures are on the cards although by the name it does tend to suggest the rather obvious

From memory I think that it was a routine released by Wayne Dobson. If this is close to what you're looking for, assuming that the cards are photo's of celebrity's then I'm sure that with some imagination you can owrk a different routine around them.

I think that I saw these on magictricks.co.uk sometime last year.

You can upload your own photos to this company and they make trading cards out of them for $9.99 (nine) and $18.99 (eighteen).

Unfortunately, they don't accept international orders but if you have a friend in the States you can get them to order for you.

Cards 4 Magic sell the 'Famous Faces' deck, which is a combination of photos and paintings of famous people, living and dead. There's Henry VIII to Richard Branson, Audrey Hepburn to Margaret Thatcher.

They also sell a deck of movie stars and, again, some are living, but with that deck, most are dead.

I.D. is talking about 'From Hell', I believe. There are threads on it.

I think the Celebrity Deck is like 'Phil' and has the names of famous people written on the back, rather than photos on the faces. I wouldn't swear by that, but it's my recollection.

Thanks very much for your help!

I've contacted Clive at cards4magic and he has what I need.

The celeb decks aren't really suitable as (obviously) people know things about them. Something more random was needed. I think I'll get the gangsters pack and maybe another.
