Wel, I have been doing a trick for years that I learned from a guy when I lived in FL for 1 year and have never seen it or found a name for it. (possible because of how its done)


I like to do this if there is three people around me.

I take the deck, and spread the cards all over the table. I then tell them Im going to name 4 random cards, 1 for each of us and have them point to the card they think is their card in the scattered pile.

I tell the first spectator to point to the Jack of Diamonds and I pickup the card he points to...I repeat this with the other 2 spectators naming a card and picking them up. Then I say its my turn and I point to card.

At the end I explain that each of us has selected a card and tell each person to name the card they chose in deck as I drop them face up on the table.


Anything have an idea?

I am not sure that this is a named effect....but it sounds like the "one-ahead principle" to me?
