Hi Guys,
Just a line to say hello. I've been messing around with magic for quite a few years now, I mainly like to pickle my friends heads in the pub. I decided to join your merry band as every time I google a new, or not so new, trick to decide wether to purchase. I find myself reading the excellent reviews from one of your many knowledgeable and very helpful members.

So anyway getting back to my first point.........hello :D

Hi there. What sort of atricks are you performing in the pub and how do you find mates and locals as an audience?

Hi Marvel,
I mainly do coins, a little bit of cards and some of the usual bar stuff, cigarettes and the like. Crowd control is one thing which actually has put me of magic a few times, the constant 'Do it again, do it again, do it again for my mate?, and them grabbing cards, coins, hands or whatever. I was also threatened in a bar by seven rather large 'gentlemen' that if I didn't show them how a certain trick worked they would show me a trick of their own. Possibly the amazing appearing bruises or disappearing teeth.... I got away leaving them looking rather foolish, but thays another story.
But anyway I keep coming back for more, I just love the reaction of normal decent people to a nice effect.

Stevie

Hi there and welcome to talkmagic. I perform some slieghts and tricks in pub settings myself and the one bit of advice I can give you is have Many friends there in case the above situation arises which after a few too many can happen. I usually am drinking myself in the bars I perform in so after a few I tell them my hand eye is off which it usually is so i cant do aanymore tricks and put everything away. I get some very good reactions in the bars especially doing ambitious card. Even if they know how a few slieights are performed the constant jumping to the top blows them away (probably the drink). Hope you have fun with your magic because i think thats the main thing. Anyway thats enough from catch you later .....

Jinkies, that's quite scary. There's someone in the pub who thinks it's daft that magicians don't tell you how it's done and another one who wants to know how it's done so he can whisper it to other people in the pub whilst I'm doing it and sound authoratative.

I don't perform for either of them and I certainly don't tell them anything other than "go buy a book".
