It would help if you visited the Introductions Section and told us all a bit more about you. It's very unlikely that anyone will offer information otherwise.

Hi I have purchased the E.T and would like to know about the P.E.T.S setup.

I'd be very grateful if some one could help me. Please PM. I can answer any questions or show a photo with me and the E.T. to prove i own one.

Thank you

electric touch

Postby rivered » Jun 22nd, '10, 21:20

Just bought the electric and am impressed.I couldnt wait to try it out and couldn't wait to go shopping for extra materials for my shoes so out came the stanley knife and hacked away. I tried and was happy with all the recommended tricks ie bending water ,zapping people ect but i can not lift a bank note even though i am using new duracell batteries and trying out various surfaces to stand on.Yigal can in his demo vid.Could i use 1.5 volt instead of the recommended 1.2 volt or am i asking for melt down and trouble ?.
ps i also would like to know more about P.E.T.S set up if someone can send me a pm.Thanks

I've a feeling he's using his own thread loops to lift the tenner & uses the shock afterwards to proove the static theory. If you think about it, you can make small pieces of paper jump upto & down from your fingers, how could you then make a full sized note lift & stay? It's loops my friend.

I haven't read this entire thread yet as it's very long, but will read it all.

In the meantime, I thought I'd add something that may or may not have already been mentioned.

I read somewhere that rechargeable batteries lose power gradually (picture a graph with a downward slope) and normal batteries keep full power then drop off suddenly. If that is true, then I'd suggest everyone avoid rechargeable batteries with this.

I'd agree, i've heard this has more shock with 'real' batteries.

The main reason I want this is because I want to light up a lightbulb. Perhaps there's another project -- less hassle than this -- that can light up a lightbulb?

How "surrounded" are you planning on being whilst holding the light bulb?

The electric touch will not light up a normal light bulb apparently it can light up a florescent one but I haven't tried.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

Ideally I'd be able to do it surrounded but maybe I could just use it on stage...

For a relatively inexpensive and simple effect, checkout "Lightning" - good enough angles for stage
