I've having a TM day today because I'm mostly writing the help system for a piece of software of mine. *yawn*

I are mostly been on the bloody phone the past two days chasing bad payers  Just got a bundle of cash through for xmas though, and did a bit of cold reading over the phone for a very spooked out accountant!

I find that the interest clause (approved by my accountant) on my invoices, followed on payment due by a statement of account including this interest sorts out bad payers right away.

I tend to wave the interest if they pay within a couple of days.

I have one bad payer who paid a month late and didn't pay the interest. On the third interest on interest type statement I stated that all future work would have to be paid for in advance, including this interest charge.

That sorted him out.

PM me if you want the interest clause wording for invoices.

That's very kind, but I'm all set. The NUJ's freelance office has some mean wording, an online interest calculator and even a link to the online forms at Small Claims!

Anyway, it all seems sorted now.

I spent 40 minutes on the phone today got 3 sales ( really bad day ) simply because 1) TM is too intersting to minimise when a call somes through.. 2) I cant be arsed with work this time of year 3) I have hit Januars target alredy so it mean sweet FA to me..
