UK magic sites

Postby Mikey.666 » Dec 23rd, '06, 17:37

after getting word that my ID will not be arriving until after new year, and that i had to pay 6 pound delivery to PM.com i decided to start a thread were people could list any UK magic sites they know of. i know none, so it will benefit me, but maybe many other users on this forum.

thanks.

Maybe it's my hangover asking, but have you tried clicking on some of those big oblong things at the bottom of the page?

Yeah Itd actually be pretty useful to have a ( reasonably ) definative list of online stores that are reliable and good value... Just cos lil picture boxes show on a site doesnt mean theyre any good it means they have money to be there.

Though saying that I dont really have any faves... I go where its cheap and hope for the best, I dont wanna say the bad ones for fear people might google them and give in to temptation.

But as a guide, Lots of money spent on flashy website is bad, theyre making more money than a simple online catalogue needs to.

Basic sites, but with no reliable sponsers is also bad. Cheap to setup, cheap to run, no one wants to support them, probably cheap products or service..

Thats no help whatsoever I guess... its the bud talking I guess.. im celebrating christmas early :D

I'm assuming that those listed below our posts in the ad boxes have paid something for the priviledge of beign on TM and I'm sure that the membership would soon post negative comments if they were not delivering a service.

I think that it would be pretty unfair for those businesses to then see a new section where other magic dealers can gewt on board for free.

I recommend that you look in the stores advertising below and if you can't find what you're looking for, then by all means ask if anyone knows where you can get it from. From experience, no-one will recommend a supplier that has given them bad service.

To name a few good UK-based magic sites:

Alakazam
Magicbox
Magic Tricks
NUMS
Magic Shop
The Magic Gadget

I can't think of any more off the top of my head, so I hope these help.

As for Behold the Scarabaeus, I am pretty sure that it is only available from American dealers at the moment.

If PM.com is Penguin Magic, they closed down their UK warehouse. Which means you're ordering direct from the US. With the Christmas delay you can't expect items to arrive before Christmas.
