Thanks for the explanation Craig, I see what you mean.

I suppose the ultimate proof of what exposure can do in a good way is Banachek, he got into spoon bending and the like from reading the exposé "The Truth about Uri Geller!" by James Randi, and look where he is now.

Okay, exposure can also have negative effects, but on the whole(in my opinion) they are exaggerated and worried about slightly too much by the magic community.

Anyway, anyone have any more thoughts that actually relate to the film's exposure?

Yup, after about 4 weeks the film will be forgotten until it surfaces on Sky in 12 month's time then mainstream TV a further 6 to 12 months after that. We'll probably have this discussion each time it's shown but it all boils down to skill and technique. If you have a good enough performance using a TT then the specs won't know or see what you're doing anyway.

Agreed.
I have to admit I am tempted to go and see the film just because Ricky Gervais is in it(of whom I am a fan), but I doubt I will have time.

Saw the film a few hours ago..

That part was not important.. he vanishes a silk but accidentally leaves it sticking half way out. But its not really too noticeable.

Mywife turned to me and said ' Hunny, you can do that too.. although your better as I saw part of the scarf..so seriously.. where does it go?? '

She, although not liking my magic, has a great eye

I watched this on the 27th (saw happy feet on boxing day and loved it and hated it in equal parts). I have to say I thought the bit with the TT was hilarious. It was a great gag!
On exposure, are you telling me that noone here has fooled somebody with one that has been well aware of their existence? Its all about whether they are expecting it or not. Its not as if you lead into it with "ok, now I am going to show you a TT trick".

not a fan of sigs, so I won't bother adding o..... oh
