Certainly not. I do not approve of things invented in the 21st century.

Actually I am reluctantly putting out one of those awful download things. Nothing to do with the svengali book or my equally laudable one -the mouse book.

No. It is a rather more substantial tome known as "Wit and Wisdom of Mark Lewis" It will consist of around 150 pages and it is merely a collection of my chatterings on the internet over the last few years.

Since it is internet stuff anyway I feel that it is more suitable for a download. Sure you can go and search all my meanderings for yourselves but this makes things a trifle more convenient for you.

Actually it is not me that is producing it. Some of my fans have banded together to put the thing together. It all started with Jim Gerrish and Spellbinder suggesting I write a book full of stuff from the various forums. At the same time by sheer coincidence a fan of mind called Ed Koffman contacted me and told me that he had been collecting stuff of mine for years and he sent me attachments with it all put together. I put him in touch with Spellbinder and Gerrish and they have been busy putting this tome together.

It is actually nearly finished and I don't anticipate a long wait for it to come out.

the problem he'll have if he wanted to have it as a download, is pirating, a downloaded book is as easy to upload onto a filesharer site(limewire/kaza etc) as logging into hotmail! unless he feels like he has had all the profite he wants (and honestly, why WOULD anyone??) then he'll keep it as a good old paperback... and hope there isnt anyone out here with a scanner fetish...

Unfortunately, there is little profit in ebooks, because of pirating. personally, i prefere thr real thing anyway, i cant take my computer EVERYWHERE! but Tricks of the mind is stayin with me for a LONGO time!! lol

Actually I am in constant contact with the pioneer of magic e-books and she is constantly advising me to go this awful route and I am constantly resisting. In fact just today she suggested that I combined my mouse and svengali book into one and sell it as an e-book to her mailing list only so I can try it out.

She tells me it cannot be stolen because of strange computer reasons that I do not understand.

I hate e-books myself and never read them unless I absolutely have to because the information cannot be obtained otherwise.

The only advantage I can see in them from the purchasers point of view is the fact that you can look at it straight away. Not good enough in my opinion.

A little patience and you can get a real book in just a few days. Mail from Canada to the UK is very fast indeed. It rarely takes more than 4 days. In fact 3 days is about average.

If you pay for either of my wondrous books today by Paypal you will get them by the New Year. Less than a week.

if someone REALLY wanted to steal your book, I'm sure they would. Nothing is impossible... in the time it took me to type the above sentence, i thought of three ways to get your book online, without your consent, and I am no computer whiz...

Yes. You could probably steal a regular book. However I am talking about downloads of which I have none. I have been informed by the producer of my 'Wit and Wisdom" book which will be a download that it will be very difficult to steal for reasons which are too technical for me to understand. In fact he even challenged me or my friends to break into it.

As for stealing my book someone did that once. However I found out and threatened all sorts of mayhem and curses. I think I had the poor chap in tears and had him pay me money before I offered forgiveness. I shall not name him in the name of love and mercy.

I see Mr Lewis doesn't want anyone stealing his work. However, it will prove instructive for him and amusing to others if I draw his attention to the following posts made by him earlier this year:

Stigmata:

"Oh let him steal something if he wants. Ethics is a very outdated concept anyway. I gave the idea up years ago. "

The Full Facts of Cold Reading:

"I sneaked in to the website even though I have never purchased his book. A wicked person who shall go unnamed sent me a photocopy of his work. Naturally I accepted it because ethics and psychics make unworthy bedfellows. " (Page 3)

"I have not ripped off Rowland's work. I merely accepted the fruits of someone else ripping it off. It came to me unsolicited." (Page 3)

I could go on...

So, maybe it wasn't the esteemed Reverend's snoring that woke him this morning, but the sound of chickens coming home to roost

I must inform Tomo and others that I am MARK LEWIS and therefore not subject to normal rules of society. If I steal something from someone it is perfectly acceptable behaviour. If someone steals from me then they are a dirty blaggard and I will curse them to hell and back.

Besides two wrongs don't make a right.
