There are a couple of ways to do this, and if you follow my now much repeated Sherlock phrase of:
"Eliminate the impossible, and whatever is left, no matter how improbable, must be the truth"

It's actually very simple, and I know I've seen it in print somewhere.

the trick is actually called 'LEAN'... easy enough to remember, apparently its a very expensive gimmick, unfortunately, i cannot remember where i saw it for sale  I suppose if you really wanted it, it would be worth the money, just for the reactions from the spectators, but i personally think it would only be suitable for serious street/walk-magicians, doing such an illusion on a stage would give strong suspicions of a mech prob being involved.

Well, if it helps, 'Lean' may just be a brand name.

Harold Lloyd and Charlie Chaplin both used to do similar effects on film... and it can be performed with items which would cost you less than a large pizza, 4 pack of guinness and a couple of movies from Blockbuster.
