A new Card-Shark is in Town

Postby Card-Shark » Jan 9th, '07, 10:47

Hi everyone,

a big Hello from Germany! First of all: as english is not my first language please allow me a few mistakes when I am posting. But I will try to do my best. ;)

My name is Christian Schenk. In my real life, I am a self-employed web designer and graphic artist. In my second life, however, I am a magician. I was infected (again) by the virus 2 1/2 years ago when I was doing a job for a client as he started a campaign "IT´s magic". He wanted a cheap give-away for the customers also and so I produced Playing Card Decks with his advertisement on the back but made a stripper version out of it. Best of all I considered the convex cut into the back design so that no one could notice the preparation ;). On the client´s trade show I met a magician who did table hopping and he invited me to join a convention. And that is how everything started...

It is now two years ago that a magician asked me, when I showed him the produced Stripper Deck (which is not a Bicycle) if I could also print Business Cards onto Bicycle Playing cards? Well, I had to say no but as I am allways looking for solutions it took nearly a year but now I am able to produce EVERY wish you could ever consider. On Bicycle. Or other stuff. I am able to manufacture superior quality playing cards up to a size of several meters (now, read that twice!) for you – if have a need for cards of such size, that is. Now, that would be a challenge, wouldn't it?

After all I started even producing complete packet trick routines and I started working with Simon Aronson and Danny Archer, just to say a few names. And I do some of the gaffed cards for some of the guys of the Flicking Fingers (for instance if you know Gaston - the FISM champion in parlour magic).

And that it is. Everything happened so fast that all is so hard to believe. Last weekend I went to my first convention as a magic dealer/producer and the reactions were fantastic. I will be pleased to be of help and give more information over the next years in this forum.

Hi Christian, welcome to TM

Wow a playing card several metres across, what could I do with that? Could be fantastic for a stage effect. :D

This would be the perfect misdirection for hiding an elephant ;)

If you own an elephant, I can do the rest for you...

Hi and welcome to TM

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

I love the card magic of Simon Aronson and he also developed some great gaffed routines.

Magic is slight of mind!

yes, Simon´s ideas are great. I was allowed to translate his Side Swiped into a german and swedish version so that it is finally usable for german magicians.

This one is so easy and a masterpiece. A reputation maker.
