Hi Guys,

Sorry I missed the meet and greet. We got really delayed with our evening meal at the hotel. Also, my phone was flat and I'd left my charger at home. Thansk for the reminder text though. Will meet you all next year!

It was a great weekend wasn't it!

:D

Apologies, too, from me for missing the Meet-up.
I was recovering from flu and very tired.
Had gone back to my hotel and fell asleep for a couple of hours.

Next year definitely.

Wow! What a blast!
I had the greatest time in Blackpool, meeting so many of the TM members there... sitting, chatting, watching and sharing magic tricks, seeing Lawrens balancing his yellow ball...

Actually Bananafish and Flash were the first ones I met in the Ruskin on Friday night, after Costas from WorldMagicShop pointed Bananafish out to me. Lawrence and MajorTom I met also, Lawrence had his yellow ball so he was easy to spot :) Magic Mark Waddington, who was a great fun guy, Card-Shark with his special Blackpool aces and some others were there too for a nice chat.

Met jericbilo and some of his friends from Zodiac, 5 of us went for dinner together, had great fun and Jerry is a great guy!

Met Dynamo at the International Magic booth, chatted a little about TalkMagic and he's a nice polite down to earth guy.

On Saturday night I met Mandrake... and he is just as nice as you could imagine from his posts here on TM :) (Unless you are a pain in the a** and have to be banned.)

Derren from TM and I had long chats also, as well as with a few others.

I met Søren very shortly on Sunday night.

That's the TalkMagic part.
The Blackpool Convention part was also fantastic.

I would say, of the people I saw, met and talked with, I would put them in this order:

Greg Wilson (Talked with him twice at his booth and got his picture taken. Brilliant performances and what a fun guy!)
Juliana Chen (Got her autographed photograph! Also chatted after her lecture and got a picture with her)
Aldo Colombini (Fantastic lecture and a great guy. Talked briefly with him. His jokes are hillarious)
Mark Oberon (Talked with him at his booth, got his picture taken)
James Brown (The first one I met outside the Winter Gardens, he stopped to chat and pose for a picture. Met again after the competition and he chatted and was great!)
Dirk Losander (Talked with him at Ruskin, joking and having fun. Great guy!)
David Jones (Sat with him at Ruskin, talked and got 20 min. private show of card magic.)
Mike Skutt (Met him at Sankey's booth. Talked briefly to him, looks like a nice chap.)

On the other hand, I saw Jay Sankey perform and then he backed out and disappeared. Saw him once before and once after a performance and I must say, he seems to be a kind of a diva. I never saw him at the Ruskin, he didn't say hello or mingle at Winter Gardens, but he sure was fun and did good magic when he was performing.

Other great performers:
Die Zauderer
David Shimishi
Greg Frewin
Ian Rowland
Omar Pasha
(The list goes on!!!)

On the downside:
The heat in the Blackpool Opera House was terrible during both nights there. Especially during the looooooong competition. It's strange as they should have acommodated full house before and you would expect them to have learned how to operate the thermostat.
Also I think too many interesting things overlapped partly or completely.

Overall... Grrrrrrrrreat weekend, Grrrrrrrrrrrreat people and Grrrrrrrrrrreat fun!!!

how cool a name is Gunnar. impressive, most impressive.
you've gotta be cool if you're first name is Gunnar, or if your second name is Oberon.

Yes I was thinking of you of course!
Faces and names... hmmm... :)

Sorry for the typo... corrected it! (I can't believe I typed TirkyRicky instead of MajorTom... tsk tsk tsk...)

Cheers!

Nobody has mentioned me once

I loved meeting you all, it was fantastic to finally meet mandrake and bananafish, as well as meeting flash, who I found to be an absolute fountain of knolwedge, and I hope to continue a friendship with you all.

It was great to meet everyone else as well, everyone had their own little stories to tell, and I genuinely hope I get to meet you all again next year.

Keep in touch everyone, and if anyone wants to keep in touch via the mobile, then giz a shout and ill send on my number.

Mark
