Hey everyone, I've been here for a while but just started to get involved in the forum discussion quite a bit latey after I realized most other forums are stuffed with young unserious kid magicians...This is who I am:

I've been doing magic about 3 years but just started to get out of the gimmicked magic and get serious about it for the past year. I've been focusing on mainly mentalism and card magic but I love to throw in the odd geek magic trick....Saw, Glass Eating etc. I mainly just perform at parties for friends and strangers but have been practising hard for a restuarant gig ....When I feel prepared I will search for a job. For the meantime, I am working security dispatch on campus at my Univerity to fund my hobby of magic.
I have a girlfriend of 4 years , basically we are highschool sweethearts and she is a big supporter of my magic and usually doesn't second guess when I decide to invest $250 on magic at one time....although she tends to do a bit of this.... .
My goals in magic are to just keep practising the art and enjoying it and let it lead me where it may although I would like to get out there and try to work in a restuarant as stated. Basically that is me in a nutshell...

your key word was 'invest', girlfriends just don't understand.... we are not big kids buying toys we are making an investment in our future careers

The reason she does understand is because I use the word invest and she knows my goals of working in a restaurant and beleives I would be an asset to that chosen restaurant therefore she supports me as much as she can...Also, It's my money and I shall spend it as I choose haha...As long as I sneak in the odd flower or night out with her she's fine with my money management.
