I knew there was a reason for ex-pat psychic reverends to congregate in Canada...

Kiss me quick! Wey hey!

What's it really matter if he is or isn't, it's not going to change the person he is.

People were entertained by him and admired him when they assumed that he was straight, so why should things be any different if he's gay?

I've always thought that homophobia is, well, it's just a little bit gay, isn't it. Certainly a LOT gayer than a group of topless, tanned, tattooed and pierced Muscle Marys outside Manto's on Canal Street screaming and running inside when I did the Naked Coin Prediction for them the other week.

Can I just ask here: who cares?

Is it going to change anyone's opinion? Make him less or more accepted?

sadly, i think it will...

anyway, back to this joker who magically exposes himself and others work...what's the point in that then? what's lacking inside himself i wonder?

that's a far more interesting question rather than where someone decides to insert their own personal parts...don't care, never care, not my life...end of message....beep beep beep...

I can assure Tomo that I am not that way inclined. However everyone else in Canada seems to be especially in Toronto. I do find it quite astonishing.

However as Lady Astor once said "as long as it doesn't frighten the horses" I have no particular opinion about it one way or the other.

As far as Derren Brown's career goes there are many people of this ilk in showbusiness so I don't suppose it will make an apeth of difference. Siegfried and Roy managed quite well from what I understand.

Sadly it likely will impact his reputation......I for one don't care, he is a performer and I am ready to be entertained. Although times and opinions evolve over decades and eras and homosexuality is one of those that is progressivly becoming less of "an issue" it still is not widespread with acceptance.

I have been to Toronto and I can understand what MR. Lewis is saying....gays are very open and everywhere that other couples are and not many blink an eye. I can assure him that Toronto and Vancouver are two of the most open cities when it comes to overall acceptance but unfortunately they don't have full acceptance - even in those enviornments - but "Rome wasn't built in a day" and I suppose neither is mass acceptance.

If Derren Brown is impacted by his confession I expect it will be because he came out with the truth so late. If it had been no secret from the beginning it would have had less impact. From what I hear he came out with a lot of stuff in the newspaper about how his NLP and psychological manipulation ability enabled him to bed various females. I thought it was bad taste at the time to pursue such publicity. It seems that it wasn't even true unless he is bisexual.

Personally I think it is a shame that celebrities have no privacy. I don't accept the view that since they are in the public eye they are fair game. They are human beings and even the famous should be given some space. It must be one hell of a price to pay to live in a fishbowl.

I would be perfectly happy to be either entranced or bored by an artist and not know anything about his or her personal life. Of course as a psychic I know too much about other people's lives already. However enough is enough even if I weren't a psychic.

I am interested in the performer's work not in his or her's personal life.

Continuing the asininity of this thread; Jerry Sadowitz outed him in his Fringe show last year. Everyone is about fourteen months late...

Take care, Ian

I think it will make a difference to the general public, everyone remembers Barrymore and Michael… nasty stuff.

As its already been said why did he keep it a secret so long ?

Anyways whether its normal or not everyone can have there own personal opinion.

I dont think it will make a difference at all. Aren't the Channel four viewers meant to be a liberal lot? Its no suprise though is it...no girlfriend and a nice taste in suits.

From what I can see, its not big news anyway. If it wasn't for this site, I wouldn't have heard.

And like Siege said...Who cares. TO be gay in the entertainment industry isn't a rare thing anyway.

Sadowitz eh? I suppose he can say what he likes since he recommended Derren Brown in the first place to the TV production team.
