I'm a teacher, and have a large tattoo up my arm. Most of the time its covered by my shirt and jacket, though when its hot I have no issues in rolling my sleaves up. The kids don't even notice it anymore, and the senior management have never mentioned it.
I also have friends in the police with tattoos, and that is fine now as they want to be seen as more open and inclusive. So I think times are changing, and to be honest, how many jobs where it could be problem, do you HAVE to wear short sleaved shirts?
