For those who haven't seen MagicWeek this week,
http://www.magicweek.co.uk
James Brown who posts here as 'The Boss' is on BBC1's new Saturday night prime time show 'When Will I Be Famous"? starting next weekend, 3rd February. If you've not seen James perform before then here's your chance and hopefully he will perform some of the stuff from a recent lecture that I attended.
Fingers crossed for you James.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

I'll be interested to see what he does, as from what i've seen he mainly does the close up/misdirection thing. But he'll be on stage and filmed in front of a prime time TV audience.
I'll mark me calendar.

I'm just wondering if anyone saw this and what they thought?
I tuned in to a show that I usually avoid to see what James Brown had to offer an audience and personally I thought the time given wasn't enough for him to settle in.
I personally thought he did ok (defo far better than me for certain) but thought he could have been better. For one I thought he was alot better than the Ventro act which was a bit of a one trick pony.
After his defeat I turned off in disgust.
If your reading this James dont be disheartened, the british public make terrible choices all the time which explains why Soaps have such big ratings.

Absolutely.
I think 3-4 minutes for a magic performance isn't enough. I think James did excellent for the time he was given. A competition of this ilk is great for most other acts, such as the bmx biker who fell off his bike for 3 minutes, as you get a good idea what the act entails.
At least I don't need to watch anymore of that show....unless there are more magicians

I too thought that James did well given the short amount of time and the vent won only becuase he had the voice gimmick in my opinion.
The show went down hill rapidly once james was off.

I just see the clips on the bbc website of james. Brilliant thats the only word i have for it. I think if he would have had the chance to perform a hands off trick after hed pick pocketed everything then when the man was walking back to his seat then shown him what hed pick pocketed i think he would have gone through easily but its such a shame he didnt have enough time to do something like this. I have also applied for it i just see an application form and there still doing applications till the 24th of feb probally for the next series but i couldnt resist.
