A simple impromptu book test would just need you to flick through the book and use a number force, I think there are a couple described in the magicians only bit.

Cogito, ergo sum.
Cogito sumere potum alterum.

The original Silver Bullet was approx $90, (although it was in a brass case and came with a video), so the price there looks pretty reasonable.

There is a fairly lengthy review of the original $90 Silver bullet here. The reviewer wasn't that impressed, but his biggest gripe seemed to be with the price, so maybe the lite version would have had a better review.

I have the 'lite' version - and it rocks.

It hasn't changed my life - but it allows me to perform TOTALLY IMPROMPTU book tests, in other people's houses, with a book THEY choose from THEIR bookshelf.

It's VERY idiot proof, and requires only a minor misdirection. But it's VERY strong indeed.

It's one of those utilities which is only as good as you make it. This is true of many other 'utilities' (such as Switch-a-roo, Xpert, Loops, PK kit etc. etc.).

And just like those utilities - this one is fiendishly simple - and virtually untraceable. The actual simplicity of these utilities is critical to the effect.

OK, so I must admit - I do save this effect for special occasions - because it's THAT intense and strong that for once, even your most skeptical friends or spectators will believe it's real magic...

Like, OK, we've all watched Book Tests on TV - and being fair - I always assumed there were 'smoke and mirrors' or a wireless intercom, or stooges - but this little beauty makes those effects totally possible.
