Hello everyone

Hello,

By way of an introduction - I became interested in magic back in 2002, unfortunately shortly after developing this interest I lost my job after ten years with the same employer. My wife was also ill at the time and so I needed to juggle looking after my wife with trying to rebuild my career.

Some progress has been made in all areas and I now find myself with some time to read through books related to card magic.

My interest in magic extends mainly to card magic but I am also interested, to a lesser extent, in coin magic and close-up magic in general.

I am now working my way through the Royal Road to Card Magic.

I look forward to making this journey with you all.

Phil

gunnarkr: I myself am based in Kidderminster in the county of Worcestershire (UK). You come from a very beautiful and scenic part of the world which I would love to visit one day.

:D

Many thanks,

Phil.

Welcome to TM.

Can you tell us about any magicians you find interesting at the moment?

Hello jericbilo,

Thanks for the welcome.

Good question. Well, I have the Royal Road to Card Magic DVD as presented by R. Paul Wilson and I find his work excellent. I am also quite interested in the work of Jay Sankey at the moment. So, perhaps two extremes there. I have also seen one or two snippets of work by Bill Malone and , again, I find his work very interesting. They are the main exponents that I find intersting at the moment but there are others - some of Derren Brown's work is very interesting and very thought provoking, the list goes on.

Might I also ask the same question of you jericbilo? :D

Many thanks,

Phil

Welcome to Iceland when ever you like, but collect a lot of money before you arrive, it's an expensive country.
Half a liter of beer is £ 5,50 'round here and a loaf of bread almost £ 2 :?

Hi and welcome to TM. I hope that you like the site and can use it to your advantage. I also like close magic mainly card. But i have been trying to perfect RRTCM as well. Its quite a tough book to perfect. Just keep at it. If you need anything i would be happy to try and help.

Hi,

Yes - RRTCM can be a tad tough to master in some areas. I have found though, that hooking a webcam up to run at the same side alongside the R. Paul Wilson DVD version of RRTCM is helpful for comparing my hand moves against the demonstrators.

Still, as with all things practice (and patience) makes perfect.

:)

Not if you pull it out from a hota. Or even better... if you pull out a rabbit from the hat with a cigarette in the mouth
