I am so angry right now that it is not funny...

I live in australia and recently ordered "the raven" from america. After waiting eagerly for three long weeks, it finally arrives and I find out that someone has stolen it right out of the box. Thats $50 ile never see again. :x

Most reputable US magic companies use an insured service.

Problem is, if you accepted the package before opening it to check the content, you're basically agreeing to accepting an empty box.

I've lost £££ss of stuff in the post before now, and about 80% of it has be recompensed by the courier companies.

Worth a try...

It definately started out in the package. The top had been torn open, and the raven box was still there, but sticky tape had been ripped off one side. Also, we wern't asked to sign for it. The package was just left in our mailbox. we weren't asked to sign for it or anything. so this gives me all the more reason to believe that it was stolen

If you purchased the Raven from a good reputable US magic company send them a polite letter or e-mail explaining the situation it's worth a try & what have you got to lose also yankeetom is right the courior company should not leave packages & I can see no reason why they should not compensate you, try to look at the complaints section on their website or Terms & Conditions or call them.

Warning do not throw away the packaging as they will need to see this for any claim to succeed.

speak to your credit card company if you paid that way, they can give weight to your claim of theft.

if you paid by check then your bank may help.
check the new distance selling regualtions for your location this may help.

you should contact the post office / courrier and imform of your intent to cite them for theft, this may spurn them into investigateing your complaint.

if you get no joy let us know who the company is and I'm sure most of us would bouy cot them :!:
